Ruben Barraza CPO, LPO, is hired as Clinical Director for new Orthotics and Prosthetics Department

Orlando, FL – Lawall Orthotic & Prosthetic Services is excited to welcome back experienced prosthetist-orthotist Ruben Barraza, who has been hired to oversee Lawall’s newest facility located within the Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando, FL.

Barraza rejoins Lawall as Clinical Director for the company’s new Orthotics and Prosthetics Department inside Nemours, a state-of-the-art children’s hospital that opened to the public in late October 2012.

Barraza is an American Board for Certification (ABC) certified and Florida Licensed Prosthetist-Orthotist with 12 years of experience in the field. He returns to Lawall’s staff of more than 200 team members across the East Coast after previously spending 9 years at the company’s Lawrenceville, NJ, location and at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA. Most recently, Barraza worked at Ortho Pro Associates in Miami, FL.

“Lawall Orthotic & Prosthetic Services is grateful to have Ruben Barraza rejoin its team as Clinical Director of our new facility in Orlando,” said Wayne Lawall, CPO and president at Lawall. “Ruben’s expertise and experience with children is a perfect fit our new Orthotics and Prosthetics Department at Nemours Children’s Hospital, and we are proud to once again have him on our staff.”

Barraza has extensive knowledge and experience in the fitting of orthotic and prosthetic devices for congenital abnormalities. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN, and later studied at the Northwestern University Prosthetics-Orthotics Center in Chicago, IL.

As Clinical Director, Barraza will serve at the hospital on a daily basis, providing care to patients referred to Lawall by hospital doctors, as well as rehabilitation department personnel. He will also take part in research studies within the orthopedic department.

Nemours Children’s Hospital is affiliated with Alfred I. DuPont Hospital in Delaware, where Lawall has been providing orthotic and prosthetic services for more than 25 years.
